Ants can teach us life lessons

“What can an ant teach me?” I hear you ask.

You’d be surprised.

Generally, the easiest way to live life is to learn from others’ past failures and accomplishments. It is, however, more challenging to take advice from someone who has not yet benefited from their own solutions, like a homeless man giving a talk on ‘how to be a billionaire’. Ants, on the other hand, fall into the successful category, and can teach us how they suceed time and time again.

1. Ants are driven by purpose
By purpose I mean having a clear long term objective or goal which shapes everything you do. For example, one ant’s sole job description is to find food for the colony. This is his purpose, and all that he inputs this time and energy into, and so it compounds his chances of success.

You’ve heard that saying, “Beauty is in the eye of the beholder,” right? I’ve often wondered at how far that saying actually goes. We, as women, always seem to care so much about who is the prettiest and who is on the other side, and where exactly is it that we, ourselves, fit in! We often think that we know, but do we really? Take a moment to put pride and judgment aside with me and let’s ponder this together.

I, myself, think that I am pretty. I know that I am far from being a beauty queen, and far from being the prettiest in my surroundings, but I’m not bad looking.
